What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic care is a health science based on locating and correcting interference in the nerve system, called subluxations. This interference is caused by physical, chemical, and emotional stress. Specific, gentle chiropractic adjustments remove that interference so your body will function at its optimum potential. (That means you will be the best YOU ever.)
What is an adjustment?
A specific, non-invasive “thrust” delivered by hand or by a hand-held instrument called the
Activator. It’s fast and generally non-painful. The purpose of the adjustment is to remove nerve interference in your body.
Will my adjustment hurt?
The Activator delivers a thrust at one-ten thousandth of a second so all you will feel is a little “thump”. I have adjusted my own children since they were only a few hours old. I adjust numerous practice members ranging in age from days to a hundred years old. I also employ some manual adjustments.
Can you help my sick child?
Probably; however, we do not label and treat diseases. We are a centre for well-being. We DO address the underlying imbalances that CAUSE disease and discomfort in both the body and mind. I help lots of children, which makes their parents rave about their healthy child. Children respond incredibly well to chiropractic care. How many times do I have to come?
That’s easy… come as often as you want to heal, feel great, defy aging, sleep better, and live pain-free! Because each individual is unique on every level, it’s difficult to know how many times you will need to be adjusted in order to reach each of your health goals. However, one truth we do know is that your goals and expectations have 100% to do with the number of times you visit us.
Will I feel better after getting adjusted?
Your care is unique to YOU, and how your body heals and responds is also unique. Most people are very happy with the results of chiropractic care. Many of them feel relief from pain almost immediately after an adjustment. It’s also possible that the pain may require several or many adjustments to fade. Rarely, a small percentage of people may experience a temporary increase in their symptoms before they start to get better.
No matter what course your recovery takes, you should also know that beyond the removal of your symptoms, chiropractic care offers an opportunity for much greater overall health, if you choose to use it for that purpose as well. I am not focused on treating diseases, but rather on enhancing the healing potential of all practice members. The importance is on quality of life rather than on disease outcomes. I have a saying, “How you are feeling is not always congruent with how you are healing.”
Will chiropractic care be expensive?
Considering the benefits, the experience at Gibsons Chiropractic Health Centre, the all-inclusiveness of our services, and the cost of providing you with the best health care, our fees are very reasonably priced and offer priceless value. We won’t spend a dime of your money without your permission.
Is it going to require more of your money than an over-the-counter or prescription drug? Probably so. Is it as expensive as surgery or a life surrendered to drugs and their side effects? NO!

I offer state-of-the-art chiropractic care including diagnostic sEMG and thermal computer scans, adjustments utilizing the Activator instrument and manually (delivered by hand), chiropractic information centre, lending library, Thumper massage, FREE health talks, registered massage therapy, acupuncture, a team of health professionals on site and a community to encourage and support you on your journey towards well-being.
How long will it take to get adjusted?
Even the busiest practice members commit to making chiropractic care a priority in their lives. Your actual adjustment will take 7-10 minutes. If, however, you want to schedule extra time, to talk about a particular issue, just ask and we will schedule appropriately.
What if I feel fine? Do I need to keep coming back?
That is always up to you. However, it has been our experience that those that stop care when they are “feeling fine” return with the same problem, only it’s usually worse. On the other hand, those that commit to regular care find their problem rarely returns; as well, they enjoy a higher quality of life and health.
If regular chiropractic care keeps you “feeling fine”, why would you choose to stop doing what’s working for you? It’s kind of like this: if your teeth feel fine, do you stop brushing them? Only if you want them to look bad, smell funny, and rot; otherwise you keep brushing to ensure they’re the best they can be. It’s the same with regular chiropractic care!
